On 19 December 2025, in Joao Pessoa (Paraiba), military police officers exchanged fire with four unidentified armed suspects in the Mangabeira neighbourhood. The officers conducted an operation to arrest the suspects, who were wanted for theft reports. The officers chased the suspects, who tried to escape and fired against them. An armed clash took place and three suspects were shot and injured. A fourth one was arrested. During the chasing, a military police officer was hit and injured. Police seized drugs (unspecified). There were no fatalities.
