On 18 December 2025, in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo, as part of a multi agency operation, members of the Attorney General's office belonging to the investigative police, the National Guard and the military forces engaged in an armed clash with the Caborca cartel, killing a local leader of the cartel and arresting another member. Officers seized grenades, weapons, magazines, tire spikes, vests and tactical accessories as well as two vehicles. 1 fatality.
