On 18 December 2025, in Comayaguela, Francisco Morazan, several heavily armed men tortured and shot and killed a person whose body was found on a street behind a recently inaugurated National Police station in the Las Brisas neighborhood, near the Fuerzas Armadas boulevard. The victim had been abducted in a nearby area, beaten, tortured, and suffocated with a tourniquet before being shot and abandoned. Residents alerted the National Emergency System 911, and paramedics confirmed the victim was dead at the scene. Police from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DPI) launched an investigation and suspect the killing is linked to members of a criminal structure operating in the area. The motive is unknown. 1 fatality.
