On 18 December 2025, ISWAP launched mortar bombs and was supported by small-arms fire following drone surveillance of the Nigerian military Battalion Headquarters 'Alfa' near Mangari (Biu, Borno). The troops, supported by the Air Force, repelled the attack and engaged the militia in a firefight. The troops recovered six rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) bombs and charges, 366 rounds of 7.62mm by 51 ammunition, and a large quantity of expended PKT rounds. There were no casualties.
