On 18 December 2025, JNIM fired rockets at the camp of the Malian army and Africa Corps at Timbuktu airport (Tombouctou, Tombouctou, Tombouctou), claiming to have target a government delegation's aircraft. JNIM published photographs of its militants firing the rockets. Casualties unknown.
