On 16 December 2025, the Indonesian military launched an aerial attack using three helicopters at residential areas in Gearek district (Nduga regency, Highland Papua province) (likely targeting TPNPB positions). This was a claim made by the TPNPB spokesperson. He also claimed that the military had launched aerial attacks on the neighboring district since 16 December 2025. Fatalities unknown. There were no official statements by the authorities regarding this event.
