On 16 December 2025, in Buenos Aires (Cauca), suspected Jaime Martinez FARC dissidents attacked the local police station and the Banco Agrario branch with mortar fire, triggering a clash with police forces that lasted between seven and ten hours. During the confrontation, the suspects managed to breach the bank branch and loot it. Extensive material damage was caused to multiple other buildings, including the mayor's office, a hospital, and nearby homes. Military forces were eventually deployed to the area, prompting the attackers to flee, leaving unexploded mortar shells and a truck containing ammunition and explosives behind. Eight police officers were injured. There were no fatalities.
