SAA event in Manabi, Portoviejo area, Ecuador on Tue 16th December 2025

On 16 December 2025, in Portoviejo (Portoviejo, Manabi), unidentified armed assailants killed seven people inside a residential property. The victims, four women and three men, were forcibly taken to the terrace, bound by their hands, tortured, and fatally shot. Six died at the scene, while a seventh later died at a medical facility. Authorities suspect the women were collateral victims and that the attack was linked to organized criminal activity, though the male victims were not directly attributed to a criminal organization yet. 7 fatalities.
