On 15 December 2025, Turkish gendarmerie members fired live ammunition targeting a group of individuals who attempted to cross the Syrian-Turkish border via Ras al-Ain area in rural Al Hasakeh, injuring five individuals who are from Deir ez Zor province. There were no fatalities.
