On 15 December 2025, in Cuatro Vias (Maicao, La Guajira), ELN members opened fire on the local police substation, prompting a response from police officers and nearby army units. The perpetrators also abandoned a vehicle on the intermunicipal road, along with an explosive device that was later defused by authorities. This was one of several actions carried out by the ELN across the country as part of a 72-hour armed strike (coded separately). There were no casualties.
