SAA event in Artibonite, Liancourt area, Haiti on Mon 15th December 2025

Around 15 December 2025 (between 15 - 16 December), in the Liancourt commune, Artibonite, the Baz Gran Grif de Savien Gang attacked residents in Bois Belanger (a.k.a. Bwa Belanje), Marecage, Ti Woch, and several other localities of Liancourt. During the attack in Bois Belanger, at least six people were shot and killed, while more than 12 were injured, and several were kidnapped. Their whereabouts are unknown. The gang members opened fire inside a church, killing a person. A pregnant woman was wounded. Several houses were looted and burned down. The police and a local self-defense brigade intervened and clashed with the criminals, who, according to witnesses, wanted to impose a gang leader in Deschapelles. Other residents claimed that the attack was linked to recurrent clashes between rival gangs. At least 6 fatalities, at least 12 injured.
