On 15 December 2025, in Sao Felix do Xingu - Apyterewa Indigenous Territory (Para), armed individuals shot and killed, in an ambush, an Ibama-contracted worker during a federal operation to remove illegal cattle from the territory. The victim was struck in the neck while accompanying a cattle removal convoy along a rural road and died after being evacuated by helicopter. The attack occurred while federal and state agencies were enforcing a Supreme Federal Court decision to remove non-Indigenous occupants from the area. 1 fatality.
