On 15 December 2025, armed militants (likely JNIM, based on location) attacked a position of volunteer fighters (VDP) in the village of Silguin (Bilanga, Gnagna, Est). JNIM claimed responsibility for the attack, saying its militants killed 10 VDP, seized light weapons and motorcycles. JNIM published photographs of the seized items.
