On 14 December 2025, Fano clashed with ENDF, Amhara regional riot police, and Kebele militia in Qutir 5 village of West Dembiya Wereda (location coded to the admin center Dembiya, West Dembiya, Central Gondar, Amhara), leading to the killings of forces on both sides. Fano started the strike targeting state security forces deployed from Delgi and Chuahit towns to reassert state control over Sankisa and Jibjiba Kebeles (the date of the initial Fano overtake is unknown). The state security forces retreated to the towns of Delgi and Chuahit. Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3.
