On 14 December 2025, a convoy of gendarmes and volunteer fighters (VDP) struck an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on location) between Gorgadji and Arbinda, coded to Boukouma (Arbinda, Soum, Sahel) a midpoint on the road between the two locations. 13 people were killed, including 3 gendarmes and 10 VDP.
