13 junta soldiers, including a tactical operations commander, killed in heavy weapons and drone attack during sham election in Ye-U town

The Farmer Heros Khin U resistance group announced that 13 junta soldiers, including one officer ranked as a tactical operations commander, were killed when resistance forces attacked military positions around Kya Phu Circle in Ye-U town, Sagaing Region, using heavy weapons and drones.

The attacks occurred on January 11 at around 11 a.m. and 6:55 p.m., targeting junta troops deployed and 81mm mortar positions around Kya Phu Circle during the junta's staged election in Ye-U town center. People's Defense Force (PDF) units used drones and heavy weapons in coordinated strikes.

During the assault, 13 soldiers including the tactical commander were killed, with many others injured. One 81mm mortar used to shell civilian areas and one signal jammer device were also destroyed. No resistance casualties were reported.
