Local revolutionary news sources told Yangon Khit Thit news agency that resistance groups stormed junta-held positions in Launglon town, Tanintharyi Region, prompting return fire that damaged civilian homes.
The clashes began around 6 a.m. on January 13, targeting junta troops stationed at the township police station, SERF office, General Administration Department office, and KBZ Bank in Launglon town center.
The fighting lasted about one hour, after which junta forces indiscriminately shelled the area with heavy weapons into the afternoon. Artillery rounds landed in residential neighborhoods, destroying several houses, though no civilian casualties were reported as most residents had already fled due to ongoing conflict.
