Locals told Yangon Khit Thit news agency that the junta dropped bombs on the western monastery of Htein Taw Village in Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region, despite no clashes occurring in the area, destroying the monastery building.

The airstrike took place at around 11:39 p.m. on January 10, when military aircraft dropped bombs on the monastery without any active fighting nearby. The explosion destroyed the monastery compound, though no casualties were reported.
