In Sagaing Region’s Chaung-U town, a local BLDF Agnya Mine unit attacked a junta security patrol with landmines in the Bhu Rin Gyi Ward, injuring two soldiers.

The attack occurred around 4 p.m. on January 9, when six soldiers were patrolling the area for security during a staged junta election event. The BLDF unit detonated mines near the Bhu Rin Gyi Stupa, injuring two soldiers before the rest of the unit retreated back to Chaung-U. Resistance fighters reported that they suffered no casualties during the operation.
