Local residents reported that four civilians were killed when junta forces used helicopter gunships and aircraft to bomb Panhlaing village in Ywarma Pin Township, Sagaing Region, as well as nearby villages sheltering displaced people.

At around 6:30 p.m. on January 9, two junta helicopter gunships from Mone Ywar's Nama base bombed Panhlaing village despite no ongoing fighting in the area. The attack killed a 20-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman, and two men aged 20 and over 40; at least 10 others were injured.
