At around 7:38 p.m. on January 8, military fighter jets carried out airstrikes on the eastern industrial quarter and the station quarter of Nankham Sub-township in Wuntho Township, even though no fighting was taking place in the area. The aircraft dropped bombs five times, causing a house in the eastern quarter to catch fire and injuring two civilians, one of whom sustained serious wounds.
