At around 5:59 a.m. and again later in the afternoon on January 8, military fighter jets from the Meiktila Air Base conducted air raids near the area between Nyaung Kone and Man Kyel Kan villages in Myoing Township, despite the absence of clashes on the ground. Although there were no civilian casualties reported, local houses were damaged by the bombing.
