On January 15, clashes between activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) left at least 10 persons injured in Ward No. 7 of Charshahi Union in Sadar Upazila, Ward No. 7 of Charshahi Union in Lakshmipur District, reports Prothom Alo. BNP leaders and activists alleged that JeI workers were collecting voters' national identity cards. Clashes broke out between the two sides over this. JeI leaders and activists took out a procession in the city at around 8:30 pm to protest the attack. The angry leaders and activists shouted slogans against BNP.
