Police on January 12 arrested two men, who were recruited by foreign-based gangsters through social media for an extortion and murder attempt, identified as Davinder Singh and Anuj Kumar, and recovered one 0.30 bore pistol and one 0.32 bore pistol from them, following an encounter in Patiala district, reports The Tribune. The duo had allegedly fired shots at the residence of Darshan Singh in Gaddo-Majra, Rajpura, Patiala district, on December 13, 2025, on the instructions of gangster Goldy Dhillon.|Police, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), on January 11 recovered approximately 1.511 kilograms of heroin, allegedly dropped by drones, from villages in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, reports The Tribune.
