Maulana Sultan, a revered religious figure who representative of the Wifaqul Madaris and also one of the senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam–Fazl (JUI-F), was killed in an explosion near a madrassa in South Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 9, reports The Khorasan Diary. Maulana Sultan was critically injured in an IED bomb attack. He was rushed to Dera Ismail Khan Hospital for medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries. No group has so far claimed responsibility.
