Across the river from the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — in Magway Region’s Myitchay Town and surrounding villages, airstrikes over three consecutive days from January 12 to today have killed an elderly woman.

According to local sources, at around 2 a.m. this morning, junta forces carried out a paramotor bombing on areas around Myitchay Town, located on the western bank of the Ayeyarwady River in Pakokku Township. The attack followed earlier airstrikes using fighter jets on January 12 and 13.
