On 9 January 2026, ISKP militants detonated an IED targeting a religious scholar, senior JUI-F leader, and representative of Wifaqul Madaris near a madrassa (Islamic seminary) in South Waziristan district (coded as Wana (South Waziristan, KPK). The JUI-F leader was critically wounded and later succumbed to injuries. 1 fatality.
