In a quite significant development, IS-Sahel claimed an IED attack between Tchin-Tabaradene and Jirket, in the Taboua region of western Niger, a clear sign of expansion towards the east, some unclaimed events also took place in this area recently like the killing of a local religious chief, which prompted the Nigerien government to ban all motorcycle circulation in the Tchintabaraden and Kao communes, starting yesterday and in effect for the next 3 months.
