On 13 December 2025, in the afternoon, a convoy of the Burkinabe special forces from the Rapid Intervention Battalion 24 (BIR 24) struck an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on location) between Diapaga and Kantchari, in the village of Brimoanga (Kantchari, Tapoa, Est). 2 soldiers (deminers) were killed.
