Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Pattani, Thailand on Sun 11th January 2026

BREAKING: Unknown attackers planted bombs and set fire to 11 gas stations across three southern border provinces—Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat. Authorities are urgently investigating and have sealed off the affected areas. On January 11, 2026, the Special Operations Unit of the Yala Provincial Police stated that unknown assailants, whose group affiliation and number remain unidentified, carried out coordinated bombings and arson attacks on gas stations and several convenience stores at multiple locations in Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat provinces. Locations affected: Yala Province (4 locations): A gas station in Kabang District A gas station in Bannang Sata District Bukekalae Gas Station, along the Yala–Raman Road, Budi Subdistrict, Mueang District A gas station on Highway 418 (Pattani–Yala), inbound to Yala city, Tha Sap Subdistrict, Mueang Yala District Narathiwat Province (5 locations): A gas station in Village No. 4, Ban Khok, Chuap Subdistrict, Cho-airong District A gas station in Dusongyo Subdistrict, Chanae District A gas station in Ra-ngae District A gas station in Waeng District A gas station in Su-ngai Kolok District Pattani Province (2 locations): A gas station in Mueang District A gas station in Kapho District The incidents resulted in property damage. No injuries or fatalities have been reported so far. Following the incidents, security forces moved in to control the situation, sealing off the affected areas for public safety. Authorities are awaiting forensic officers to conduct detailed examinations to determine the causes and collect evidence. Meanwhile, relevant agencies have tightened security measures in nearby areas.
