At about 9 a.m. on January 4, AA commando forces attacked a junta column encamped between Hill 666 and KP 16, about 5,500 meters west of Ma Thone Village in the Nyaung Kyaw area of Pantanaw Township. In this engagement, the body of a colonel-level officer, believed to be the commander of Light Infantry Battalion 10 based in Kalay, along with more than ten dead soldiers and a quantity of weapons and ammunition, were seized.
