Two children aged 10 and 11 were killed, and six people including a 7-year-old child were injured when the junta conducted an aerial bombing using a scooter-type aircraft (gyrocopter) on Nyaung Pin Village in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, according to a member of the Monywa Township People’s Security Team who spoke to Yangon Khit Thit News.

The airstrike occurred around 5 p.m. on January 2, when villagers were bathing near the water. Without any clashes taking place, the military dropped bombs on the area. During the attack, two children were killed and three others were injured, according to local reports.
