Ten junta soldiers were reportedly killed when resistance forces attacked military positions in Butalin town, Sagaing Region.

According to the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Butalin Township, resistance forces launched a coordinated night assault on junta positions in the town, killing ten soldiers.

The attack took place around 2 a.m. on December 28, targeting junta troops stationed at the Butalin police station, the administrative office, and the local high school. During the raid, ten junta soldiers were reportedly killed and many others injured.

Three resistance fighters were also killed, and three others sustained injuries. One MA-2 rifle from the resistance side was lost. In retaliation, junta forces conducted multiple airstrikes on the area, using Y-12 aircraft eight times, helicopters nine times, and kamikaze drones six times.
