On January 5, a rusted mortar shell was recovered and destroyed in a controlled explosion in a forward village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The shell was spotted lying in an open field by villagers of Upper Ghani in the Balnoi area of Mankote sector around 11:15 AM. A police team secured the area, and Army experts later destroyed the shell without causing any damage.
