On January 5, a young man opened fire on a woman in front of the Ministry of Finance, opposite the Presidential Palace, reports Hasht-e Subh. According to the sources, the woman was transferred to the hospital in a coma, and her condition is currently reported to be critical. The incident comes as violence against women in Afghanistan has increased sharply over the past four years following the Taliban’s return to power.
