On December 30, two dumper drivers and an excavator operator engaged in a road construction project were attacked at gunpoint by a cadre ofNational Socialist Council of Nagaland-Reformation (NSCN-R) identified asa ‘tatar’ (local functionary) Müsumi, in Meluri District of Nagaland, Eastern Mirror reports on January 2. The incident occurred between Phokhungri Town and Avakhung Village, where a two-lane road project under Package-III was being executed by Bharat Construction Company Limited. The accused, allegedly attacked the workers after a dispute over giving way to a vehicle. One driver sustained serious injuries. The accused fled after local youths rushed to the spot.|
