Air Delivered event in Yemen on Tue 30th December 2025
30th December 2025
Saudi warplanes carried out airstrikes on Tuesday morning targeting the port of Mukalla in Yemen's southeastern oil-rich province of Hadramout, a local security official told Xinhua.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that several strikes hit the port area, with loud explosions heard in and around the facility. Flames were seen rising near the port following the bombardment, triggering a security alert across the surrounding area, the source added.
No official information has yet been released regarding the nature or extent of the damage caused by the airstrikes, and there were no immediate reports of casualties.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Saudi-led coalition conducted a "limited" military operation targeting weapons and combat vehicles unloaded at the port of Mukalla.
Coalition spokesman Turki Al Maliki said two ships coming from the port of Fujairah entered Mukalla on Saturday and Sunday without obtaining official permits from the coalition's Joint Forces Command.
He said the crews of the two ships disabled the vessels' tracking systems and unloaded a large quantity of weapons and combat vehicles to support the forces of the Southern Transitional Council in Hadramout and Al-Mahra in eastern Yemen.
