28th December 2025
Mizzima: In Yangon, a person in charge from the Yangon Army group said that a township election commission office under the military-appointed election commission, located in Ward No. (3) of Kamaryut Township, Yangon, was successfully attacked and blown up using two powerful mines.
Although the election commission had tightened security within the constituencies, the attack was carried out before election day, at around 2:45 a.m. today (December 28), it is learned.
‘We attacked with two mines and then had to withdraw quickly, because security forces were deployed in full. I don’t know the exact extent of the damage, but both mines exploded. The operation was successful,’ he told Mizzima.
It has also been announced that the attack was jointly carried out by the National Unity Government (NUG), the Western District People’s Defense Force (PDF), and allied Yangon Army (YA).
