Shooting incident in Myingyan: Police vehicle destroyed, police chief among the dead

In Myingyan town, Mandalay Region, members of local defense forces attacked a police patrol car near the Zeekan military checkpoint, resulting in the vehicle’s complete destruction and the deaths of several police officers, including the police chief, according to reports.

The ambush happened around 6 a.m. on December 21, during a district-level military operation. A representative from Myingyan District Battalion (7) told Mizzima that the “Double Cab” police vehicle was ambushed while patrolling around the junction of Wards (16), (17), and (18).
