In Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, armed gunmen attacked state police officers who were stationed outside a residence under a court-ordered house arrest safeguard. The shootout took place on December 18 in the town's Hoja de Maíz neighborhood. Officers successfully repelled the assault, with no injuries reported among police, and the attackers fled the scene in a vehicle. A large-scale operation involving state police, the Navy, and National Guard was launched to locate the suspects.
