On 2 January 2026, in Ah Lu Lay village (coded as Ah Lu Gyi) (Bilin township, Thaton district, Mon state), the Myanmar military (IB-3) fired artillery rounds into the village at around 8:30 am without an armed clash occurring. The DVB reported that a civilian was killed, and 3 others, including 2 children, sustained injuries. Meanwhile, Karen Information Center News and Khit Thit Media reported that 2 women and a man were killed, and 2 others sustained severe injuries. Fatalities coded as 1, using the lowest estimates.
