On 1 January 2026, BKI operatives were suspected of detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) near the police station in Nalagarh town (Solan, Himachal Pradesh) leading to material damages to the police station. BKI and Punjab Sovereignty Alliance (PSA) claimed responsibility for the explosion on social media and mentioned that the IED was against the channeling of synthetic drugs, manufactured in Himachal Pradesh, into Punjab.
