On 1 January 2026, SAF drone strikes targeted a meeting of RSF and RAC-RSF leadership in Waranga (Zalingi, Central Darfur). 6-40 RSF and RAC-RSF members, including the Darfur region security advisor to the RSF commander and general commander of RAC-RSF, and 35 civilians, were killed. Total fatalities coded as 41 (6 RSF and RAC-RSF + 35 civilians).
