Nigeria 🇳🇬 | On Sunday evening, January 4th, a patrol of the 145th Battalion of the IED (Instrument Protection and Security Forces) in Damasak struck an IED previously planted by terrorists. The patrol was traveling from Maiduguri to Damasak, near Gubio (Borno Province). The explosion was violent and deadly. 🔴 Eight soldiers were killed in the explosion, and a ninth soldier died of his injuries on the morning of January 5th. At least four soldiers remain seriously injured. 🔸 Conflicting reports are circulating about the terrorist group responsible for the attack, but the location is primarily within the ISWAP (Islamic State Peace Action) area of ​​influence. 🔹 The images attest to the violence of the explosion, which left the soldiers no chance of survival. Their armored vehicle was completely destroyed. 🔸 The soldiers rescuing their comrades filmed the intervention (📽️ in the comments)
