Thai media report that the Second Army Area carried out a raid on January 3 on a large scam operation in the Chong Chom border area of Surin Province. The site consisted of three multi-story buildings set up like a hotel and casino complex. Lower floors were used as living quarters, while upper floors were divided into sound-insulated workrooms tailored to different target countries. Officers seized extensive scam scripts, operational manuals, phones, laptops, SIM cards, financial records, IDs, credit cards, NFC readers, and other equipment. Authorities say the evidence will be transferred for further investigation to trace the wider network behind the operation.
