On March 27, 2019, Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on the area extending between Aleppo International Airport and Sheikh Najar industrial area on the outskirts of Aleppo city targeting the Iranian forces and pro-Iran militias ammunition warehouses. The airstrike resulted in the killing of at least 7 Iranian fighters and pro-Iran militia fighters and the wounding of an unknown number of others.
