On 30 March 2019, an Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula leader, Abu Ammar Al-Hadhrami, was killed along with two others in a US drone strike on Sawmaah district of Al-Bayda. CENTCOM had declared two strikes on 29 March 2020.
