On December 31, a fresh explosion injured a labourer identified as Raju, 30, at the Ummal Qura International Madrasa in Keraniganj in Dhaka while debris was being cleared at the site of a previous blast, reports The Daily Star. The original explosion on December 26 had severely damaged the madrasa and nearby structures, prompting an Anti-Terrorism Act case after police recovered explosives and bomb-making materials. Shahidur Rahman, an inspector of the Anti-Terrorism Unit investigating the case, stated that they had learned the seven arrestees have links to Neo-Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh.
