Five Security Forces (SFs) personnel were killed while several others sustained injuries when the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) cadres set up a roadblock and conducted snap checking on the RCD Highway at Bethagu Cross in Surab District of Balochistan at around 11:00 am on December 27, reports Zrumbesh. In a statement issued to the media, BLF ‘spokesperson’ Major Gwahram Baloch claimed responsibility for a roadblock and attacks targeting SFs and vehicles linked to the Saindak copper-gold project. According to the statement, during the roadblock, a convoy consisting of four vehicles assigned to provide security for the transportation of raw materials from the Saindak project arrived at the location. The BLF claimed that its fighters simultaneously targeted the convoy, resulting in one security vehicle coming under severe attack. The BLF stated that five security personnel were killed in the attack, while several others were injured. It further claimed that other vehicles in the convoy, including those associated with the Saindak project, sustained significant damage.
