SAA event in Baghlan, Dara-e-Kariz area of Barim village, Nahrin District area, Afghanistan on Fri 26th December 2025

On December 26, three Taliban fighters were killed in a clash with the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) in the Dara-e-Kariz area of Barim village, located in Nahrin District in Baghlan Province, reports Afghanistan International. The incident occurred when Taliban fighters launched an attack on an NRF position. The NRF, led by Ahmad Massoud, said its fighters mounted a counteroffensive, killing three Talban fighters and forcing the remaining attackers to retreat. The NRF further alleged that, during the withdrawal, Taliban fighters shot and killed a civilian shepherd in the area. The group claimed that none of its fighters were injured in the exchange of fire. There has been no official response or confirmation from the Taliban authorities regarding the incident.
